Week 4 Reading Plan:
Monday: #VerseOfTheDay
Monday: Reflection Question
Reflection Question for the day: God Will
Answer.
Joseph is summoned to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams,
but makes sure to immediately state whom the interpretations come from – God.
Joseph, who has was betrayed by his family, jailed at the hands of Potiphar,
forgotten by the cupbearer, has not faltered in his faith, in God.
Do you wait for God’s answer? Are you steadfast in
your faith, while you wait?
Tuesday: #VerseOfTheDay
Tuesday: Reflection Question
Reflection Question for the day: Humble
Servant.
Joseph correctly interpreted Pharaoh’s dream. There
was seven years of plenty, followed by seven years of famine, yet Egypt
survived, thanks to Joseph. Joseph stored grain, so that during the famine
people would have food, and he rations it fairly to the people.
How do you serve God? What could you do to show
mercy to those in need?
Wednesday: Reflection Question
Reflection Question for the day: Dreams Do
Come True.
Joseph had shared this very dream with his
brothers, 20 years earlier. It had finally come true. It’s the day he’d been
waiting for.
What dreams have come to fruition in your life?
What hand did God have in making them come true?
Thursday: #VerseOfTheDay
Thursday: Reflection Question
Reflection Question for the day: Trying to
Understand Evil.
Joseph needs answers. He decides to test his
brother’s to see where their loyalty will lie, when Benjamin’s livelihood is
threatened. Judah steps forward and begs to trade places with Benjamin, stating
he could not bear to see the anguish of his father.
I’d like to think that we all look for the good in
others. How do look past evil and stay in the light?
Friday: #VerseOfTheDay
Friday: Reflection Question
Reflection Question for the day: Forgiveness.
Joseph is finally able to reveal his identity and the
truth, that his own brothers sold him into slavery. In this moment, where he
can point fingers and seek revenge, he does not! Instead he tells his brothers
“It was really for the sake of saving lives that God sent me here ahead of
you.” Genesis 45:5 WOW!
Joseph sees the big picture, he holds no grudge, he
seeks no revenge, but rather he offers to provide for his brothers and their
families.
Do you see the big picture. What transgressions do
you need to forgive? How would loving past this hurt make your life better?
